Pubs in the village - plenty of choice and some are only two minutes away!
South Wing has the feel of a rural retreat but is very close to the centre of a thriving village with a range of pubs and eateries. The White Swan and The Cottage sit almost side-by-side and are just two minutes walk from the front door. Both serve a good range of beers and wines, with wholesome food and a friendly atmosphere. Kids and dogs are welcome.
Other pubs include The Piebald Inn offering a wide selection of pies, The Horseshoe with a large beer garden, and on the edge of the village sits the Royal Oak

Cafes and eateries in the village - all within walking distance
If you fancy fish and chips you're in luck - the Captains Table is a very short walk (on the way to / from the pub..) and is a firm favourite of ours. Everything is cooked to order and it's very popular, particularly on Friday evenings. Close enough to get back to the house with a steaming hot meal! And now they accept cards - what next?!
The Hunmanby Pantry is an Aladdin's cave full of Yorkshire produce from pies and cakes to local gins. The deli section offers freshly made food and bread - note that the pantry is not open every day.
An unusual and very welcome addition to the village is the home of Yorkshire's only whisky distillery. The Spirit of Yorkshire has a brilliant café and coffee shop upstairs from where you can see the huge copper still. They also run distillery tours and host regular live events.
Fast food junkies can get their fix at China China (Chinese) and Spinners (Pizza, kebabs and burgers) both a short walk from the house.
